How The Implementation of LGBTQ Curriculum Affects Our Children
LGBT Pride month is currently taking place now in the month of June. Alongside, some states like California, New Jersey, Colorado, and Illinois are now required to teach LGBTQ history in their schools. According to Sarah Schwartz, in her article Four States Now Require Schools to Teach LGBT History (https://blogs.edweek.org/teachers/teaching_now/2019/08/four_states_now_require_schools_to_teach_lgbt_history.html);
“Democratic Governor J. B. Pritzker signed House Bill 246 into law Aug. 9 [which] mandates that history classes in public schools “include a study of the roles and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in the history of this country and this State.” Any textbooks bought with state funding must cover “the roles and contributions” of LGBT people, and can’t include content that is discriminatory to any particular gender or sexual orientation.”
As enlightening this may be for the students who do fall under LGBTQ, their are many counteractive opinions following this new implementation. In Mary Margaret Olohan’ article California Parents Powerless Against School District’s LGBTQ Content, Emails Show (https://www.dailysignal.com/2019/08/14/california-parents-powerless-against-school-districts-lgbtq-content-emails-show/)She begins by shedding light on the Murietta School District in California. She reveals that parents are being forced to have their children participate in classes containing LGBTQ content and historical references. This became a shock to some parents within that school district as not only were they unable to opt out from these classes, they were also informed, from a conservative group by the name of Our Watch that, “Progressive sex education programs in California [are] teaching children about oral sex, masturbation, role-playing, and more.”
The video also displays the American Civil Liberties Union staff attorney Ruth Dawson (https://www.aclusocal.org/en/biographies/ruth-dawson), according to Our Watch, “instructing teachers on how to help students obtain abortions without parental consent.”
This information is being distributed to children between the grades of K-12, which is not only pressuring students to learn about sexual activities and abortion at a young age, but also teaches them that the things they could do in a later age, is okay to do at a younger age. Which not only enforces mischief, but compels them to begin sexual behavior at a younger age without understanding responsibility and how to use the information they are being given.
According to Melissa Barnhart, she brings to light how some teachers feel about implementing sex education in the curriculum in California. In her article California’s Sex Ed Guidelines are ‘shocking’ and ‘medically risky’ for kids, teachers say (https://www.christianpost.com/news/californias-sex-ed-guidelines-shocking-medically-risky-for-kids-teacher-says.html), she reveals that, Rebecca Friedrichs, the founder of For Kids & Country, said in an interview with The Christian Post that girls the age of 10 and 11 are being forced to have, “Condom relay races, in front of boys, [and] they’re [being] taught how to put a condom on a model of an erect adult male penis.”
Friedrich add that the reason why people cannot opt out of the gender identity lessons is because, “The unions and their allies have labeled that anti-bullying. It’s this anti-bullying campaign so that LGBT children don’t get bullied because they claim there’s this big problem with bullying of those children. There’s a big problem of bullying everyone. Everyone gets bullied, that’s a problem.”
“What the unions do,” she said, “is they push their agenda by saying, ‘We have to stop all this bullying, so every single child in America needs to be exposed to this anti-bullying in the form of gender spectrum and gender identity. It’s caused a lot of confusion for parents here, because parents will say, ‘Oh, I don’t need to worry, I can opt out.’ Well, you can’t opt out of all of it.”
The Washington Post added, “In kindergarten through third grade, children will learn about gender identity; they’ll be taught about masturbation in fourth through sixth grades; in seventh and eighth grade they’ll learn about consent and sexual abuse, and in ninth through 12th grade, they’ll learn more about “contraception and healthy sexual relationships, including advice for LGBTQ students.”
“I’ve had teachers tell me that they plan to take two months off work so they don’t have to teach this,” Friedrichs continued. “The problem with that is, they wrote into the law that if a teacher refuses to teach it, or is ‘unqualified to teach it,’ then the experts come in to teach it. So now Planned Parenthood or GLSEN is going to sexually indoctrinate and abuse your child in the classroom.”
So from the birds and bees conversation we have resorted to talking about oral sex and abortion to young kids. This curriculum at these schools will also allow the students to learn about the 71 genders that exist, and perhaps a child will decide at age seven they will identify as non-binary. Which defines as, “any gender identity which does not fit the male and female binary spectrum,” according to the Gender Wiki (https://gender.wikia.org/wiki/Non-binary).
How these kids grow up understanding their bodies and identity, is no longer in the hands of science, fact, or truth. Instead, it is now in the hands of required LGBTQ curriculum in schools, the ACLU, and Planned Parenthood.
Here are some of many petitions that are fighting for the opportunity to opt-out of the LGBTQ curriculum at their children’s schools:
